Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates has established itself as a leader at the vanguard of neuroscience innovation. The practice is determined to exponentially advance care, treatment, and science to benefit its patients and patients everywhere. In 2017, the practice leadership created the Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Education and Research Foundation to accelerate progress for patients and the neuroscience field:
RESEARCHThe primary purpose of the Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Education & Research Foundation is to improve the quality and safety of care for patients with brain, spine and cerebrovascular disorders and injuries for generations to come. Foundation funding will help to expand ongoing, multifaceted neuroscience research, and support studies that will affect thousands of pediatric and adult patients with life threatening brain and spine injuries and diseases. A primary foundation focus includes pilot studies for research that directly translate to patient care. |
EDUCATIONThe future of brain and spine care for adults and children is dependent upon the emergence of effective leaders who will guide the field of neuroscience for decades to come. Through the elite neurosurgery residency program developed by Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates, those leaders are being mentored, nurtured, and inspired. The Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Education and Research Foundation will make it possible to expand this residency program, educate more world-class physicians, and propel the level of neurosurgery care available around the globe. |
QUALITY SCIENCEThe measurement of patient outcomes and the quality of life associated with existing standards of surgical and medical care is essential to breaking down barriers to improved neuroscience care. The American Spine Registry is a significant achievement in this area. While this national study originated at Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates, funding from the Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Education & Research Foundation will allow for the expansion of additional data analysis and evaluation that will be used to continually improve the care provided to patients. |
Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates is a physician-owned specialty practice focused in the areas of neurosurgery, advanced spine care, and pain management. The practice encompasses 44 board-certified or board-eligible physicians in the specialty areas of neurosurgery, physical medicine & rehabilitation (physiatry), orthopaedic spine surgery, and pain management.
